Collaboration between ISI Belgrade and IOS Regensburg

The two-year collaboration between ISI Belgrade and IOS Regensburg dedicated to the research of infrastructural challenges in Yugoslav history, as well as their (non)overcoming in the process of integration of the Balkan space took place through online and onsite workshops, lectures and through the exchange of research visits during 2021 i 2022.

Its result was an edited volume “Taming the Yugoslav Space: Continuities and Discontinuities in Coping with the Infrastructural Challenges of the 20th Century”.

Project SERBIE20

Building on the visual component of Institute’s project SERBIE20, funded by the Serbian Science Fund, Center aims at exploring Yugoslav census results and creating a map of high precision which would serve as an educational tool for understanding of demographic, economic, ethnic, social and political changes in Southeastern Europe during the 20th century.

Tito on the Warpath

Digital Center of the Institute for Contemporary History (DISI) maps main whereabouts and wartime trajectory of Josip Broz Tito during the Second World War. Tito`s papers from this period are published by the Institute for Contemporary History and made available in digital format.
