Katarina Beširević and Luka Filipović are following the Serbian student protest closely. Katarina wrote about their political momentum in Contemporary Southeastern Europe, whereas Luka explored How Serbian students are redefining protest and participation. They also co-authored a contribution on The Role of Student Demonstrations in Mobilizing People Against Authoritarian Regimes – The Case of Serbia During Mid 90s and Mid 2020s for Commons.
At the same time, the Institute for Contemporary History created a public opinion survey related to a mass protest of Serbian citizenry, which made hundreds of thousands of people take it to the streets of all major Serbian cities. Led by Rade Ristanović, our researchers are aiming to establish why the citizens are standing in support of the students.
