Together with the Institute for Philosophy and Social Theory, our Center has conducted a summer school on Student and Civil Resistance attended by talented students and committed educators from Serbia, Albania, Romania, Hungary and Croatia devoted to developing a transnational and interdisciplinary curriculum for studying Southeastern Europe. This school was held at Central European University in Budapest, alongside and together with a summer school of its Invisible University for Ukraine. In our joint sessions we addressed the topics of transnational points of resistance to authoritarianism, zooming into the case of student protests in Serbia and analyzing the ecological consequences of irresponsible harvesting of public resources. We also established the basis for creation of the Invisible University for Southeastern Europe, which would work alongside IUFU in order to create new learning opportunities and broaden the space for free exchange of ideas.
